A rare old Ethiopian basket from the Harar region of Ethiopia. These baskets were woven by the mainly Islamic Ethiopian population of the region and used as dowry and as home adornments. The baskets are meant to be hung on walls so that the intricate weaving and decorations can be seen by the house guests. With leather trimmings and leather straps for hanging.
