New Space At Cambridge Antique Market

Happy 2016!  Business was a bit slow this past year at Cambridge Antique Market. It may have been due to loss of parking with the build out of the new Marriott Suites next door. Luckily, more parking has opened up again recently. I hope that brings some customers back. There are lots of great bargains to be had throughout CAM's five floors!

I've been contemplating getting out of the business. When you are not selling much, you can't go out and buy new things - and that's really most of the fun of this side venture of mine.  Rather than end things, I decided to shake things up a bit and move to a different spot on the 4th floor (at the top of the stairs walk right and it's the first booth on at the left.)   I think it looks pretty decent.  We'll see if it helps with sales.

For anyone reading this - I offer you 20% off on anything in my booth (#637).  Just tell them at the front desk that you are friends with me (Anne Brown) and they will honor the discount.

Primitive Wood Bed Frame - Full Size

Nice primitive wooden bed w/ carving. Full size. Tall headboard (61" height) with nice footboard, side rails, and slats. This fit my an older full mattress box spring fine, but appears about 1/4 inch too small for newer, plusher box spring. Suggest using an older mattress to fit - or could be repurposed to make a nice bench for those who are handy.

If I Ran the Circus, First Edition, 1956 by Geisel (Dr. Suess).  No dust jacket.  All other books like this that I've found and published this year have a different cover. If anyone has any information about this book, please contact me.  I'm curious.

Northeast Native American Crooked Knife

This is primitive tool handmade by Northeast Native American Woodland tribe. Handcarved into the wood of the handle is a crown on one side and likely a signature, "MAP X" on the other side.  The steel knife blade is attached to the handle with wire and nails.  These tools were used for various purposes, one likely being to cut splints for basket making.

SOLD

The link below will take you to a web site that has a PDF download of a book about the history of crook knives by authors Russel and Ned Jalbert, titled "Mocotaugan, the Story and the Art of the Crooked Knife"     http://mocotauganthebook.com/
